The beautiful archipelago of Bermuda reopened its borders for tourism as of July 1, 2020. That is to say that this popular destination started accepting tourists by air from all countries. Tourists should adhere to health protocols set out by the local government, which include bringing a certified negative COVID-19 test.

Who Can Travel To Bermuda?
Everyone. The good news is all tourists and visitors are welcome into Bermuda. But of course, they should follow health protocols set out by the government.

Entry Requirements and Health Protocols
Prior to departing into Bermuda, all travelers should:
- Obtain a certified negative PCR COVID-19 test within 72 hours of departure.
- Travel insurance that covers COVID-19
- Wear face masks when traveling to the departure airport
- Wear face masks and practice physical distancing at the departure airport
- Complete a traveler screening form and arrival card
- Complete the Bermuda travel authorization process online (within 48 hours of departure) which gathers important information for the island’s health and immigration officials; a $75 fee is required, which includes the cost of all COVID-19 testing in Bermuda.
Similarly during flight, all travelers should wear face masks while on the plane and practice social distancing.
Secondly, upon arrival, all travelers should:
- Continue to wear their face mask and practice physical distancing
- Undergo RT-PCR COVID-19 testing at the airport and isolate on the property of your accommodation until results are ready (turnaround time between four and eight hours in most cases, when arrival happens during the day).
During the trip to Bermuda, travelers should also continue to practice social distancing and take his/her own temperature 2 times daily and upload it into app pack a thermometer. With this, travelers should take a COVID-19 test, administered on Day 4, Day 8, and Day 14 at easily accessible pop-up testing centers around the island.

What’s Open in Bermuda?
Despite the easing of some restrictions, the island’s nightly curfew will remain in place until further notice. Although curfew hours will be shortened from 2300-0500 to 0001-0500. All persons are required to wear masks when in any public area when social distancing is not possible. Gatherings of more than 50 people are prohibited.
However, here’s what’s mostly open in Bermuda:
- Public Transportation
- Restaurants indoor and outdoor with proper distancing
- Cinemas and Museums but at 20% capacity
- Gyms with physical distancing
- Pools but a max of 20 people
Bermuda’s One Year Remote Work Visa
Ever since there were lock downs all around, at some point people managed to work at home. And Bermuda is offering everyone the opportunity to explore the option of working from Bermuda over the next year.
Bermuda launched its new digital nomad program called the Work From Bermuda on August 1st. It’s a type of Visa that allows remote workers to live and work on the island for up to 1 year. The cost is actually super reasonable at $263/year.
